History
The 12th Infantry Division was an hungarian formation raised first as the 12th Reserve Division in March 1944, was later redesignated 12th Infantry Division after being merged with the remnants of the 4th Reserve Division
Saw action first as part of the II Reserve Corp in Poland and later as part of the Third Hungarian Army, VII Corps in Hungary.
Would later be reconstituded as the 12th Infantry Division after heavy loses and assigned to the III Panzerkorps, part of Armeegruppe Fretter-Pico
Would later be assigned as part of the Hungarian I Corps and would subsequently be destroyed during the siege of Budapest
